And so, it begins …
Trump is now our president.
Notice the changes. Write them down. Track them in a journal, for they will come in fast and furious at us, and we will need to remember.
Write them down with pen and paper. Quiet, peaceful, paper. It will help you breathe. It will help you measure how quickly, deeply and far we slip from the basic decency of trusting our neighbors and enjoying the trust they have in us.
Read. Be informed. Be prepared. Envision a day when we can get back to the Fairness Doctrine or something like it, updated for the Social Media world. Envision the day we can say our sons and daughters will be safe from tryanny.
It’s important that we believe that someday, we can build that trust again. But in order to do that, we’ll have to remember what it looked like. So write it down.
It’s like dropping breadcrumbs ... as we venture into the dark woods.
We were meant to be here, in this time and place, holding our country true to its values. We were meant to be here to fight this good fight.
And so, it begins.
