Great News! - People are standing up to the Trump Regime, and it’s beginning to work!

USAID - [2/7/25, from Democracy Forward, a group of lawyers.[ - “A federal court has said that it will grant our request to stop the Trump-Vance administration’s reckless attempt to put more than 2200 foreign USAID workers on leave. Without this court order, Americans abroad would have been in harm's way.” (Hooray!)

Trump’s Hit List of FBI Agents who worked on the Jan 6 Cases - [2/7/25, Democracy Docket[ - “The federal government agreed not to publicly release the names of FBI agents involved in the Jan. 6 and Mar-a-Lago investigations for now. FBI personnel are currently suing to permanently block the government from disclosing this information.” (Not a full win here yet; just a partial one, but people are finding ways to stand up to Trump’s threats. The ‘good people’ are finding their legs!)

WI Protects its Top Election Official from MAGA Lies about Trump’s 2020 Loss - [2/7/25, Democracy Docket] - “The Wisconsin Supreme Court unanimously ruled today that Meagan Wolfe can remain the state’s top election official, despite efforts by state Senate Republicans to oust her following President Donald Trump’s 2020 loss.” (Standing up like you mean it, WI! We see you!)

Fed Elections Commission Chair (Ellen Weintraub) Stands Up to Trump’s Illegal Attempt to Fire Her - [2/7/25, Democracy Docket] - Ellen Weintraub, the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) Chair, who has served for 23 YEARS and was just elected as the chair for 2025, pushed back after she received a letter from Trump dated Jan. 31 saying, “You are hereby removed as a Member of the Federal Election Commission, effective immediately.” She says Trump can’t legally remove her that way. (Rock on, FEC Chair Weintraub! Would that ALL the members of Trump’s hit list bring it on like you have.)
Marko Elez, the infamous 25-year-old at DOGE, Resigned - [2/7/25, CNN] - CNN is now reporting that the “25-year-old staffer, Marko Elez, resigned after the Wall Street Journal uncovered social media accounts espousing racism and eugenics, according to the paper. Elez controversially worked with software CEO Tom Krause, now also a special government employee like Musk, to gain access to the Treasury Department payment system. Other DOGE employees include young coders with impressive resumes. More from CNN Investigates.” (The real news here is that CNN and the Wall Street Journal decided they would not be outdone by Wired, and they got to work on investigating the Coup. That’s good! We like that!)

EGG UPDATE - (2/7/25, CNN) - (This is my personal favorite … I don’t MEAN to be snarky, but the EGG thing? … It really pisses me off!)
- On Wednesday, “CNN reported about 10,000 eggs had been stolen in Pennsylvania.”
  - (Ok, so EGGS are now the new black market commodity! If you know ANYONE who is surprised that egg prices went UP under Trump … gently point out to them that their news source lied to them about the reason egg prices went UP under Biden … it was a bird flu, not Biden. Perhaps it’s time for them to change their news source? Just sayin’ … ok, back to CCN …)
- “Thursday, it was that bird flu had been detected in Nevada dairy cattle.”
- “Now, New York is temporarily shutting down live bird markets after bird flu was detected in poultry. No immediate health threat.”
  - (Thank you, CNN, for following this super important story. We will see how Trump handles the bird flu. I, for one, am not holding my breath. And, oh, Easter is coming up! Stay tuned.)
