Our Right to Vote is Under Siege … Again!
Last Saturday, Jan. 24th, Pam Bondi attempted to make a ‘deal’ with Tim Walz, the Governor of Minnesota. She offered to call off the illegal ICE gestapo goons in exchange for MN VOTER DATA. Read Bondi’s Letter to Minnesota’s Governor
Then,
“On Wednesday, [President Trump’s obsession with his defeat in GA in 2020] translated into action, when a team of F.B.I. agents, armed with a search warrant, descended on the Fulton County, Ga., elections hub outside Atlanta to seize ballots, VOTER ROLLS and scanner images — even though previous investigations have found no evidence to support his false claims of widespread fraud.”
And then … on Thursday, Jan. 29th, House Republicans introduced a new bill which will attempt to invalidate a large swath of votes under the guise of protecting us against [imaginary] election fraud.
Notice the pattern here?
Let’s drill down into the current pig-with-lipstick bill, The Make Elections Great Again (MEGA) Act. Like its predecessor, the House-passed SAVE Act, it would impose new documentation requirements for voter registration and a new requirement for photo ids for voting.
Tens of millions of Americans, particularly young people, people with disabilities and black and brown people, don’t have these documents due to a lack of access to services and safety nets.
BUT THE BIG DEAL IS – It would supersede states’ constitutional authority to administer elections by imposing sweeping changes like forcing states to discard mail-in ballots received after polls close on election day, banning universal vote by mail systems, and prohibiting ranked choice voting in federal elections.
Our legal system deliberately put the states in charge of our election processes for a reason, and this is it. The President of the United States should have no say in how the states conduct their elections.

We stopped the SAVE Act when they tried to get that through, and we need to step up now to stop this act the same way. Use the link in Action 1 below to call your congress people.
But don’t stop there … I am deeply inspired by Bishop William J. Barber, II and Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove who are down to NC right now planning a 4 day long action to protect voters’ rights from Feb 11 - Feb 14th.
“We’ve set an agenda to stand up against the effort to steal a Congressional district so extremists can prop up an immoral agenda. We’ve said, ‘No, not on our watch. This is our Selma. Others marched then, but it’s our time now.’”

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS: Trump can read the writing on the wall.
He knows he’s going to lose the House and Senate in November (and then probably get impeached for all the crimes he’s committed) … unless he can control which votes get counted and which don’t.
We HAVE to fight back with everything we’ve got.

Despite Donald Trump’s obsessive claims to the contrary, election fraud in the United States is vanishingly rare.
The most serious threat to free and fair elections is Trump’s attempt to block voter access to the midterms this fall.

“Norm Eisen, a lawyer who served as special assistant to Barack Obama for ethics and government reform from 2009-2010, has released a statement on behalf of his non-partisan Democracy Defenders Fund on what he calls Todd Blanche’s and the Trump justice department’s ‘failure to fully release all eligible files relating to the Epstein investigation, as required by the Epstein Files Transparency Act,’ through its new, partial release of documents.”

On Jan 30th, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche claimed that they have now released all required files and will not release any more. Congress must review the files and hold them accountable for violating the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
